Hi, I’m Hayley-Jayne!
The face behind Wild Fern Photography.
I work full time in the mines driving dump trucks on a 7n7 roster. On my days off you’ll usually find me with my family, probably somewhere outdoors, or behind the camera capturing all the little moments in between.
My style is all about the real stuff - the laughs, the chaos, the connection and everything that makes your people, your people. I want your photos to feel like you, and to give you something to look back on years from now and remember exactly what this season of life felt like.
I grew up in rural small towns all over CQ and actually moved over from New Zealand in 2013, which is where the name Wild Fern comes from. It's my little piece of Aotearoa that I get to carry with me wherever life - and my camera - takes me.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't you include how many photos I will receive?
I don’t cap the number of images in your gallery. If I capture a beautiful image that belongs in your story, I want you to have it! The number of images will naturally vary depending on the session you choose, with longer sessions generally allowing for a larger gallery.
Where are you and do you travel for photoshoots?
I’m based in Springsure, Queensland and travel within a one-hour radius at no additional cost - including Emerald, Rolleston and surrounding properties. If you’re a little further away, just get in touch and I can organise a custom travel quote.
What should we wear for our session?
Keep it simple, comfortable and most importantly, true to you. Neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on you and your people. I recommend avoiding bright neon colours, large logos and too many competing patterns. If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help with outfit choices before your session.
How long does it take to get our photos?
Your full gallery will be delivered within 4 weeks of your session. I know waiting to see your photos feels like forever, so you’ll also receive a little sneak peek within the first week while I work on the rest of your gallery.
